CANADiAn LYNX
Lynx canadensis canadensis
ABOUT
The Canadian Lynx is a solitary animal that is comparably smaller (to the other Felidae cats) with a shorter body and long legs.
The Canadian Lynx is an excellent climber, and being a poor runner, climbing is a very important mean for survival. Lacking in the ability to chase down prey, the Canadian Lynx stalks and ambushes other animals from the trees. The Lynx has very powerful legs, with the hind legs being longer than the front.
HABITAT
Canadian lynx are found in most of Canada (ranging from the east coast all the way up to Yukon). They may also be found in some northern areas of US states.
Canadian lynx live in dense forested areas and sometimes a rocky/uneven terrain as well.
Due to the Canadian environment and climate, they have adapted to snowy, cold, and forested habitats. They have a thick coat and long fur as protection against the climate.
