ABOUT
The jaguar is the largest wild cat in the Americas. They are very solitary animals and the male and the female only come together for the occasion of mating.
They have a powerful body and are nocturnal hunters; hunting in either water or on ground. Jaguars have a very unique way of catching fish. They use wave their tails over the water to lure in fish and once the fish get close enough, the jaguars are able to swipe them up with their sharp claws.

HABITAT
Jaguars, living in the Americas, are found in a variety of habitats that include shoreline forests, tall grasslands, and dense deciduous/tropical jungles. Geographically, they are found in the range from Mexico to South America.
The jaguars at the Toronto Zoo had a darker coat, but Jaguars are also known to possess a more yellow coat as well. Jaguars can have a yellow coat with spots or a darker, melanistic coat with spots, but whichever it may have; there is no difference between the animals except for the coat colour.
